Pixel Engine Academy Pty Ltd

We’re Melbourne’s premier destination for aspiring game developers. Since 2018, we’ve trained over 450 programmers in Unity and interactive entertainment coding.

How We Started

What began as a passion for interactive entertainment evolved into something bigger — a place where technical skill meets creative vision.

Pixel Engine Academy Pty Ltd was founded by a group of developers frustrated with generic programming courses. They’d worked in the gaming industry for years and noticed a gap: most bootcamps teach theory without real-world context.

We’re different. We don’t just teach C# syntax — we show you how professionals actually build games in Unity. That means hands-on projects from week one. Real debugging challenges. Actual performance optimization problems you’ll face on the job.

Our first cohort had 12 students. Now we’ve trained hundreds. They’re working at studios across Australia, building mobile games, VR experiences, and interactive software. Some started their own indie studios.

What We Teach

Core Programming Skills

Our curriculum covers everything you need to build production-ready games and interactive experiences.

C# Fundamentals

Object-oriented programming, design patterns, and the language that powers Unity game development.

Unity Engine Mastery

From scene setup to advanced rendering, physics systems, and multiplayer architecture.

Game Architecture

Building scalable systems, state management, and game loops that don’t fall apart at scale.

Cross-Platform Development

Deploy to PC, mobile, and console platforms. We’ll show you the tricks that matter in production.

Performance Optimization

Profiling, memory management, and making your games run smooth on every device.

Publishing & Release

Getting your game to Steam, mobile stores, or your own server. We’ve done it. You’ll learn how.

Our Method

How Training Works

We’ve structured our program around what actually prepares developers for real work.

1

Foundation Building

Weeks 1–4 establish core C# concepts. No shortcuts here — we drill the fundamentals until they stick. You’ll understand why code works, not just memorize syntax.

2

Engine Immersion

Weeks 5–10 shift to hands-on Unity work. You’ll build small games, fix real bugs, and start understanding the engine’s architecture. By week 8, you’re working on genuinely complex systems.

3

Portfolio Projects

Weeks 11–16 focus on production-ready work. You’ll build games you can actually show studios. We push for quality here — optimization, clean code, and professional architecture.

4

Career Launch

Week 17 onward is about getting you hired. Portfolio review, interview prep, industry connections — we don’t just teach and disappear. You’ve got ongoing support.

Our Promise

What Sets Us Apart

We’re not just another coding bootcamp. Here’s what makes Pixel Engine Academy Pty Ltd different.

Small Cohorts

Maximum 15 students per class. That means real mentorship, not lectures to hundreds. You’ll get actual feedback on your code.

Industry Experience

Our instructors aren’t academics — they’re working developers. They bring real problems and real solutions to every session.

Job Ready

You’ll graduate with a portfolio that gets interviews. We focus on what studios actually want to see, not theoretical knowledge.
